Beavers Butchers, Masham

Our Story

A proper family butchers.

Beavers Butchers is a traditional family butchers in the middle of Masham. Richard took over the business from his grandad over 40 years ago, and it’s still run the same way today — with traditional skills, a friendly welcome and food made here on the premises.

We prepare our meat by hand from whole carcasses, work with farmers we know, and make a huge variety of sausages, pies and ready meals in our own kitchen. There’s a dry ageing cabinet for the cuts that benefit from it, and a bakery that fills the shop with the smell of fresh pies every morning.

The Family Shop

A family butcher on Silver Street

Beavers has been a family butcher in Masham for generations. It's a proper local shop, and the same family has stood behind the counter through the years.

Richard Takes Over

From his grandad to Richard

Richard took over the business from his grandad over 40 years ago, and he's been behind the counter ever since — still doing things the traditional way.

Traditional Skills

Whole carcass butchery

We work with whole carcasses and prepare everything by hand in the shop. That means traditional skills, less waste, and cuts prepared by the team you know.

The Bakery

Our own bakery, fresh each morning

We have our own bakery on site, with handmade pies freshly baked every morning. It's one of the things people come back for.

Still Personal

A sausage roll and a chat.

From a weekly meat pack to a sausage roll and a chat, the personal service is still a big part of what makes Beavers different.
